The fifth link in the chain of becoming a Christian is to Be Baptized (Immersed) in water:
Romans 6:1-14 1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3 Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. 5 If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be
Acts 2:38 38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:41 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.
Acts 22:16 16 And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.
united with him in his resurrection. 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin-- 7 because anyone who has died has been freed from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. 11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Acts 8:26-38 ...35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him. 36 As they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch said, "Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?" 37 [ And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."] 38 And he ordered the chariot to stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him.
Scripture tells us that God wants all men to be saved. Many have a narrow vision about what saves us. Some say faith only, or grace only, or the blood of Christ, or mercy, or the resurrection, or the power of God. Truth is we are not saved by any ONE of these but by all of these and more. We are saved by God (Isaiah 12:2; John 3:16) as well as by Christ (Luke 19:10; 1 Tim. 1:15). We are also saved by the gospel (Romans 1:16), the blood of Christ (Heb. 9:22; Romans 5:8-9), God's grace (Eph. 2:8; Rom. 3:23,24), and baptism (1 Peter 3:20,21). There are many links in the chain of salvation and Satan will do whatever he can to break the chain. Study the Word of God. Don't allow Satan the opportunity to omit a link or break the chain to your salvation.
